About Us

Delivering A Quality Repair

Established in 1969 by Mr.George Preston, who had spent many years in the refinish industry. This included a long period in the paint shop at British Leyland’s Castle Bromwich plant (now Jaguar Cars).

After a short spell working from home in his spare time, Walmley Body Builders Ltd was born at our old site on Eachelhurst Road, Walmley. From this site the Company built up an enviable reputation as one of the leading accident repair shops in the West Midlands.

After outgrowing the existing site and rebranding to Walmley Repair & Care, the Company moved to their current premises in Hubert Street, Aston in 1988.

George retired in 1989 handing over control of the business to his son and daughter.
Jeanette (pictured) joined the Company in 1980 after several years working for Barclays Bank and the NHS in salaries and wages. Jeanette’s role is now Financial Director looking after the administrative and financial elements of the business.

Garry (pictured) joined the Company in 1984 after serving an apprenticeship at British Leyland and 5 years in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Garry’s role is now Managing Director and has a very ‘hands on’ involvement with the workshop. He has achieved ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor accreditation.

Colin Bourbage joined the Company in 2001 after serving an apprenticeship at Hangers of Birmingham (Ford Main Dealer) and several years in local Accident Repair Centres. Colin’s role is now Manager and Estimator and achieved ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor.

The rest of the Team have a long history and background in the accident repair industry, and have been with the Company for many years. They have all benefited from regular industry training and have achieved ATA senior levels.

The Company are very proud to have been awarded BSI Kitemark accreditation in 2010 and again proving that we are one of the leading repairers and ensuring safety for our customers.
